Welcome to K5 for Season's opener

New team K5 from Keynsham joined the league for the first fixture of the season. They did not disgrace themselves by any means and claimed to have had an enjoyble evening. There was a new format that proved popular. Each team asked two rounds of ten questions. For each round of questions the teams were marked and given points for how well they had done comparatively. First got 4, second 3, third 2 and last 1.Sheepworrying's Alex Dunn asked the first question under the new format.

Sad News

It is with deep regret that we must annonce the departure of the Philospohers from the Bristol Quiz League Scene. Martin White who has held them together for many years has been a stalwart of the league.

This means that the league is reduced to four teams and to allow the league to continue a new format has been devised. Each team will compete in all quizzes. Each team will ask two sets of questions of the other teams. The top team for each set of questions will score 2 points, the second team one and the third zero. If new teams appear the number of points scored per round will increase with the number of new teams. Each match day will produce a winning team a secong a third and a fourth. Points will be awarded as previously in the Grand Prix. The League Champions will be the team scoring the most points in the season.

New Venue the Stag and Hounds Quiz Dates

This season all quizzes will be on the first Wednesday of the Month starting on 1 November 2006 and all will be at the Stag and Hounds Old Market. The dates of quizzes are: 1 November, 6 December, 3 January, 7 February, 7 March and 4 April.
